WE HOPE TO HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF ELDERS IN THIS COUNTRY AND AROUND THE WORLD...
by funding initiatives that focus on creating a new understanding of issues that threaten older adults, the sharing of expertise and experience, and innovations in training, prevention and intervention.
THE FOUNDATION IS SEEKING...
to shed more light on the tragic social problem of elder abuse, much like efforts three decades ago to expose the growing problem of child abuse in this country. Even at this early stage in the Foundation’s existence, funding initiatives include the following projects:
CREATING KNOWLEDGE
We are helping to research the characteristics of the brain to determine links between aging and vulnerability, and financial exploitation.
SHARING KNOWLEDGE
Current projects include a book about the history and current state of the field of elder abuse and elder justice, as well as a white paper summarizing the USC Judith D. Tamkin International Symposium on Elder Abuse held in 2016.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE
We are funding curricula that train care providers to increase awareness of elder abuse risk factors, promote prevention, and combat financial exploitation of older adults.
